イーアン・マッキントッシュさんはアメリカ・アラスカ州のネアコラ山脈でスキー、スノーボードを題材にした映画の撮影をしていた。制作したワイオミング州の企業は、「（彼は）馴染みのコースだと思っていたところを滑り始め、最初のターンをしたときに1.5メートルほどの深い溝の中に入り込んでしまったようだ」とコメントした。
彼はブリティッシュ・コロンビア州ウィスラー出身のプロスキーヤーで、1分のうちに1600フィート（約488メートル）も崖を転げ落ちた。その間にスキー板は失われたものの重傷を負うこともなく生還した。
「首が少し凝っています。そうですね、少しだけ痛いです。でもそれ以外は問題ありません」と、映画の舞台裏を紹介するビデオの中で彼は述べた。
今回は無傷ですんだが、おそらくもう同じ経験はしたくないだろう。「母なる自然の洗濯機の中にいたようなもので、最悪でした」と、彼はカルガリー・サン紙に語った。
「この1分間は、NFLのラインバッカーに、0.5秒ごとに張り倒されているような衝撃を感じた」という。
