【タイ代理出産騒動】オーストラリア夫婦「代理母が男の子を渡さなかった」 テレビ番組で反論

タイ人女性が代理出産した双子の男女の赤ちゃんのうちダウン症の男の子をオーストラリアの夫婦が引き取らなかったとされる問題で、この夫婦は8月10日に放送されたオーストラリアのテレビ番組に出演した。

タイ人女性(21)が代理出産した双子の男女の赤ちゃんのうち、ダウン症の男の子をオーストラリアの夫婦が引き取らなかったとされる問題で、この夫婦は8月10日に放送されたオーストラリアのテレビ番組に出演し、「代理母が男の子を手放さなかった」などと反論した。NHKニュースなどが報じた。

オーストラリアのテレビ局は10日夜、この夫婦のインタビューを放送し、この中で夫婦は「代理母から『男の子を引き取ろうとするなら警察を呼んで女の子も連れて行く』と言われ心配になった」として、女の子だけを連れて帰ったのは代理母の女性が男の子を手放さないと強く主張したからだと述べました。

そして夫婦は、代理母が赤ちゃんを育てるのを認めたことは一度もないとして、今後、男の子を引き取るためにタイを訪れたいという考えを述べました。

一方、夫妻の主張に対してタイ人女性は10日、夫婦を脅すようなことは話していないと否定し、男の子については「夫妻に渡せば、施設に入れられると思い、引き渡さなかった」と話している

この問題は、2013年12月にタイ人女性が夫婦からの依頼で代理出産した双子の男女の赤ちゃんのうち、夫婦が障害のない女の子だけを引き取り、ダウン症の男の子の引き取りを拒否したと報じられている。

タイでは代理出産のビジネスが幅広く行われているが、代理出産について定めた法律がなく、今回の問題を受けて法整備を求める声が出ている。
