パーティー好きの名士だったトムキンソンさんは、脳腫瘍を公表してから、わずか数カ月でこの世を去った。
彼女の名付け親はチャールズ皇太子だ。皇太子とカミラ夫人は声明で、彼らは「心よりお悔やみ申し上げます」と弔意をあらわし、皇太子たちにとって最高の友人だったトムキンソンさんを偲んだ。
