ミネソタ州在住のビーズ装飾アーティスト、ゲイル・ビーさん（57）は約3年間かけて180キロのウェディングドレスを作った。全体が100万個以上のビーズからできている。ドレスには6メートルのトレーンがついていて、全長11キロメートルのビーズで飾ったワイヤーと50万個のガラスパール、40万個以上のクリスタルで組み立てられている。
ゲイルさんは映画で使用されることを願い、最終的には美術館に飾ってもらいたいと考えている。完成まで833日間をかけて完成させたものだ。
「とにかくやり続けました」と23名の女性たちとプロジェクトを進めてきたゲイルさんはABCニュースに語った。「私の倉庫で作業をしていて、ついに裏口に達したときに手を止めて言ったんです。『できたわよ』と。みんな立ち上がって手を叩きました」。
