天安門広場に自動車が突っ込み5人死亡 日本人1人けが【UPDATE】

中国の北京市内である天安門広場で10月28日、自動車が群衆に突っ込んだ後に炎上し、車内にいた運転手ら3人が死亡した。詳しい理由は分かっていないが、天安門広場は1989年の民主化運動が弾圧された舞台で、さまざまな憶測を呼びそうだ。

車にひかれた観光客多数がけがをし、病院に搬送された。警察当局が現場を一時封鎖した。詳しい原因は分かっていない。

中国版ツイッターの「ウェイボー」では、毛沢東主席の大きな肖像が掲げられた天安門の前で、乗用車とみられる車体を大きな炎が包み、煙が上がっている写真が掲載されたが、すぐに削除された。ロイターは現地記者の取材を以下のように伝えている。

現場近くのロイター記者によると、消防車や救急車、数多くのパトカーが黒煙が立ち上っている現場に向かっている。広場を抜ける道路は封鎖されている。

ツイッターではその後、警官が事故現場を覆い隠し厳重な警戒をしている模様が、次々にアップされている。

【2013/10/28 19:26追記】NHKニュースによると、自動車にまきこまれてけがをした人は11人。そのうち1人は日本人とのこと。以下のように報じている。

北京にある日本大使館によりますと、けがをしたのは30代の日本人の男性で、口などにけがをして北京市内の病院で手当てを受けているということです。
