竜巻か?埼玉県熊谷市や和歌山県串本町で建物被害 各地で突風や強風の被害相次ぐ【台風18号】

NHKニュースによると、12時13分現在、住宅などの建物被害は、熊谷市で全壊5棟、半壊5棟、一損壊220棟となっているほか、行田市で一部損壊49棟、滑川町で一部損壊13棟の合わせて292棟となっていると報じている。朝日新聞デジタルの12時6分現在の報道では、県によると屋根が飛ぶなど全壊2棟を含む109棟の建物が被害を受けたという。

また、NHKニュースによると、最も被害が大きい熊谷市では、電柱がなぎ倒されたり車の窓ガラスが割れたりするなど市を南北に貫く形で広い範囲にわたって被害が出ており、近くの女性は「ゴーッというすごい音で地震かと思い、目が覚めて出てみると隣の電柱が倒れていた。1分くらいの出来事で、外に出たときには音は東の方に過ぎ去っていた」と話していたという。

また、16日午前2時20分ごろ、群馬県みどり市のJR両毛線岩宿駅近くで突風が発生した。朝日新聞デジタルが報じている。市や消防によると、約50棟で屋根や瓦が飛んだり、窓ガラスが割れたりする被害が出た。同市の女性(50)が割れた窓ガラスで顔を切り、軽いけがをしたという。

台風18号が上陸する前日の15日、和歌山県内でも雨が激しく降り、串本町内では竜巻とみられる突風で住宅の屋根が飛ばされるなどの被害が出た。朝日新聞デジタルによると、串本町有田のレストランで働く男性(36)は、窓から潮岬沖に目をやると、上空の黒い雲に向かって海から回転しながら伸びる灰色のすじのようなものが見えた。海上を西に進み、陸へ近づいていったという。

東京都内では、16日午前11時15分頃、千代田区九段北の靖国神社で、境内の木が倒れ、清掃員の60代の男性の頭に当たり、男性が重傷を負った。また、栃木県下野市では16日午前6時半ごろ、自治医大構内で歩道を歩いていた男子大学生(19)が強風で根元から折れて倒れてきたとみられる桜の木の下敷きになり左脚を骨折する重傷を負うなど、各地で強風や突風による被害が相次いでいる。
