イギリス北部のグラスゴーで開催されている体操の世界選手権で10月30日、男子個人総合の決勝があり、内村航平（26）が金メダルを獲得し、個人総合6連覇を達成した。朝日新聞デジタルなどが報じた。
日刊スポーツによると、内村は「正直、自分でもちょっと信じられない。気持ちを全6種目保っておくことだけに集中した。どの種目も気持ちが切れなかったのが、いい演技につながった」とコメントした。
内村は2016年夏のリオデジャネイロオリンピック代表も決定し、2連覇を目指す。
