［ワシントン １２日 ロイター］ - 米ホワイトハウスのカーニー報道官は１２日、ウクライナ東部で前日に行われた住民投票の結果を米国は承認しないと表明した。
ウクライナ東部では１１日、親ロシア派勢力が地域の独立を問う住民投票を強行。選挙管理委員会代表によると８９％が賛成票を投じた。
カーニー報道官は記者団に対し、米国は「違法な」住民投票を認めておらず、同投票はウクライナ国内の分裂と混乱を一段と深めるための動きだったと見なしていると表明。「米国は結果を承認しない」と述べた。
そのうえで「ロシア政府が住民投票実施の阻止に向け、（ウクライナの親ロシア派勢力に対する）影響力を行使しなかったことを遺憾に思う」と述べた。
