明日オープンのUSJ「ハリポタ」エリア、期待高まる全貌を公開
映画や小説で人気の『ハリー・ポッター』の世界を再現したユニバーサル・スタジオ・ジャパン（USJ）の新エリア「The Wizarding World of Harry Potter（ウィザーディング・ワールド・オブ・ハリー・ポッター）」が15日にグランドオープンするのに伴い、14日、主要施設が報道陣に公開された。
東京ドームのグランド約3個分という広大な敷地に2つのライド・アクションとショップ8店舗、レストラン2店舗からなる同エリアは、映画シリーズでプロダクション・デザイナーを務めたスチュワート・クレイグ氏監修のもと、"本物"へのこだわりを追求して制作された世界観が特徴。
ハリーらホグワーツ魔法魔術学校生お馴染みの「ハニーデュークス」や、「ゾンコのいたずら専門店」など、まさに映画そのまま。本物の雪が降ったかのような屋根や苔が生えているような石畳など、細かいところまでディテールにこだわって作られており、『ハリポタ』の世界観を忠実に再現している。ライドアトラクションは、3年連続で"世界最高アトラクション"に輝いている、ホグワーツ城上空を飛ぶ感覚が楽しめるライド・アクション「ハリー・ポッター・アンド・ザ・フォービドゥン・ジャーニー」が展開される。
米フロリダ州のユニバーサル・オーランド・リゾートでは、新エリア「ダイアゴン横丁」が先日オープン。新アトラクション「グリンゴッツからの脱出」が6時間待ちとなるなど、この夏は日米で"ハリポタ旋風"が巻き起こりそうだ。
