［北京 ２９日 ロイター］ - 中国国営新華社は２９日、新疆ウイグル自治区で２８日朝、刃物で武装した集団が警察署などを襲撃し、警察当局が犯行グループの数十人を射殺したと伝えた。

新華社によると、武装集団は同自治区ヤルカンド県Elixkuの警察署と地方政府庁舎を襲撃。その後、集団の一部が近くの町に移動し、市民らに切り付けたり、車両に放火したりするなどしたという。

新華社の報道では、当局は事件を「組織的で計画的なテロ行為」として捜査。死傷者にはウイグル族だけではなく、漢族の住民も含まれている。

襲撃事件を受け、亡命ウイグル人組織「世界ウイグル会議」のラビア・カーディル議長は、「事件によって中国当局が抑圧を強めるとみられ、さらに多くの人が自由を失うことになりかねない」と懸念を示した。

新疆では過去約１年の間に一連の暴力事件で２００人以上が死亡しており、中央政府による取り締まりが強化されている。
