冬季アジア大会のスピードスケートで女子1500メートルがあり、日本勢が4位までを独占したものの、大会規定により3位の高木菜那が銅メダルを逃すという「珍事」があった。

札幌冬季アジア大会のスピードスケートで2月21日、女子1500メートルがあり、日本勢が4位までを独占したものの、大会規定により3位の高木菜那（日本電産サンキョー）が銅メダルを逃すという「珍事」があった。産経WESTなどが報じた。

アジア大会の規定では同一種目でメダルは１カ国２個までとされており、表彰式では５位の中国選手が繰り上がって、銅メダルを受け取ることになった。高木菜の順位に変更はない。
試合では、この種目を得意にしている妹の高木美帆（日体大）が優勝。さらに、２位に押切美沙紀（富士急）、４位も佐藤綾乃（高崎健大）が入るなど日本勢が１～４位を独占した。

読売新聞は「大会組織委員会によると、アジアの冬季スポーツ普及を促す目的から、『モチベーション（意欲）にもつながるよう、メダルを複数の国・地域で分け合ってほしい』とアジア・オリンピック評議会（OCA）が求め、過去の冬季アジア大会でも組織委との協議の上でこの規定を採用したことがあるという」と伝えた。

高木菜那は「メダルをもらえなかったのは悲しかったですが、少しずつタイムがよくなっている。いいレースはできたかなと思います」と話した。
