後藤健二さん妻「夫を誇りに思う」 支援団体通じ声明【イスラム国】

後藤健二さんの妻は1日、イギリスのジャーナリスト支援団体を通じて声明を出した。「健二の死の知らせを受けて、打ちのめされています」と悲しんだ。

過激派組織「イスラム国」に殺害されたとみられる後藤健二さん（47）の妻は2月1日、イギリスのジャーナリスト支援団体を通じて声明を出した。「イラクやソマリア、シリアのような紛争地に住む人々の苦しみを伝えたことを誇りに思っています」と強調した。

声明は以下の通り。

家族と私は、健二の死の知らせに打ちのめされました。彼は私の愛する夫、そしてかわいい2人の子供の父というだけでなく、世界中の多くの人々にとって息子、兄弟、そして友達だったのです。

彼が亡くなったことに大きな喪失を感じながらも、私は夫がイラクやソマリア、シリアのような紛争地に住む人々の苦しみを伝えてきたことを大変誇りに思っています。彼は戦争の悲劇を伝えるため、とりわけ子供の目を通じて市井の人々に与える影響に光を当てることに情熱を傾けました。

非常に厳しかったこの数カ月、私と私の家族を支えてくださった皆様に感謝を申し上げます。

皆様おわかりいただけるように、私たち家族にとってとても困難な時です。メディアの皆様、どうか私たちのプライバシーを尊重し、夫の死を受け入れられるまでの時間をいただければと思います。
