メジャーリーグのレンジャーズからドジャースに移籍したダルビッシュ有投手が8月6日、自身のTwitterを更新。5日に放送されたバラエティ番組「ゴン中山＆ザキヤマのキリトルTV」（テレビ朝日）の放送内容を否定した。
番組では「夏の甲子園を読唇術でキリトル」と題し、現在活躍している野球選手が高校時代の試合中に発した言葉を読唇術で解読するという企画を放送した。番組中盤、東北高校時代のダルビッシュが2004年の夏の甲子園で千葉経大附属高校と対戦した模様を紹介。
ダルビッシュは8回まで無失点でおさえたが、9回に初失点を喫し、試合は延長戦にもつれこんだ。番組では、10回裏に打席に立ったダルビッシュが2ストライクの局面に追い込まれた際、「最後かな ドキドキするわ」と発言していたとの推測を紹介した。
放送後、あるTwitterユーザーが番組の場面をキャプチャーした画像とともに、ダルビッシュに「これって本当ですか？」と投げかけた。このツイートに回答する形でダルビッシュは、「絶対言ってないです」と否定。「読唇術って信用できないなと思いました」ともコメントした。
ダルビッシュは5日のニューヨーク・メッツ戦で移籍後の初登板に臨み、7回3安打無失点10奪三振と快投し、白星でデビュー戦を飾った。
