イスラム国から奪還した町コバニ、戦闘後の中心部はいま(画像)

イスラム国との激しい戦いの末、クルド人民兵組織が奪還したシリア北部の町アイン・アル=アラブ(クルド名「コバニ」)。戦闘後の様子を「AFP通信」のフォトジャーナリスト、ビュレント・クルチ氏が撮影した写真から見ることができる。

1月26日(現地時間)、クルド人民兵組織はイスラム国との激しい戦いの末、トルコとの国境に近いシリア北部の町アインアルアラブ(クルド名「コバニ」)を奪還したと宣言した

南部の郊外では今も空爆や地上戦が行われている模様だが、コバニの町自体は4カ月ぶりに比較的落ち着きを取り戻した。

イスラム国との戦闘の象徴的な町となっているコバニは、アメリカを中心とした連合軍からの数百回にのぼる空爆の標的となり、一連の戦いで2000人のイスラム国戦闘員が殺されたと報じられている。

戦闘の後、町は壊滅的に破壊された。辺りには銃弾の痕が散在し、多くの建物が爆撃され瓦礫と化している。
