犠牲者の数はさらに増えるおそれがある。

インドネシア・スマトラ島のアチェ州北部でで12月7日朝、マグニチュード(M)6.5の地震があり、少なくとも54人が死亡した。AP通信などが報じた。

アメリカ地質調査所(USGS)の発表で地震発生時刻は7日午前5時3分、震源の深さは17.2キロ。

アチェ州の軍司令官タタン・スライマン少将によると、震源地に最も近いピディエ・ジャヤで52人の死亡が確認され、近郊のビレウエンで2人死亡した。国家防災庁によると、78人が重傷を負った。

被災地ではモスクなど多くの建物が倒壊し、まだ多くの人が中に取り残されているとみられ、犠牲者の数はさらに増えるおそれがある。
