歌手アブリル・ラビーンさんが、主にダニを媒介して感染するライム病のため5か月間寝たきりで「死ぬって思った」状態だったと、雑誌のインタビューで告白した。

カナダのロック歌手、アヴリル・ラヴィーンさん(30)が、主にダニを媒介して感染するライム病のため5カ月間寝たきりで「死ぬって思った」状態だったと、アメリカの雑誌「ピープル」のインタビューで告白した。

ラヴィーンさんは、長期にわたって公の場に姿を見せていなかったため、ファンから心配する声があがっていた。日刊スポーツなどが4月2日、これを報じた。

アブリルはゴシップ誌「ピープル」に昨年10月にラスベガスで30歳の誕生日を友人たちと祝っていた時のことについて、「私はほとんど食べられなくて、プールに行った時に、その場から離れて、ベッドに横にならなくてはいけなかったの」「私の友達は『どうしたの?』って聞いたけれど、私は分からなかったわ」と語った。そして、その後重度のライム病と診断されたという。ライム病とはダニに刺されることで感染する感染症で、初期症状はかぜと似ているそうだ。

アブリルは診断される数か月前からずっと体調不良だったそうで、昨年春頃に刺されたと考えている。

ラヴィーンさんは現在、「80%」回復したという

「ライム病」について、コトバンクは次のように説明している。
