英国人アーティストのイアン・ベリー、通称デニム(Denimu)は、デニム生地を使って作品を創作している。奇抜な試みのように聞こえるかもしれないが、彼が生み出したポートレートや風景画は実に素晴らしい。

英国人アーティストのイアン・ベリー、通称デニム(Denimu)は、デニム生地を使って作品を創作している。奇抜な試みのように聞こえるかもしれないが、彼が生み出したポートレートや風景画は実に素晴らしい。アイルトン・セナ財団がF1界のレジェンドの肖像画を依頼したところ、彼はセナの家族が着用していたジーンズを使い、期待を裏切らない逸品を完成させたのだ。

昨年、セナの没後20年のメモリアルとして制作されたこの肖像画は、1月8~11日に英国で開催されたオートスポーツ・インターナショナルで公開された。大きさは160cm x 122cmで、マクラーレン・チーム在籍時に撮影されたセナの写真を基に作られている。今後この作品は販売される予定となっており、その売り上げ金は財団に寄付され、セナの母国ブラジルの恵まれない子供たちに学ぶ機会や将来の可能性を提供するために使用されるという。
