アメリカで年1回開催される大セール、「ブラックフライデー」を日本でも取り入れる企業が増えている。2016年は、イオンやトイザらス、ECサイトのBUYMA(バイマ)などが開催しており、有名人をCMに起用する動きが出ている。

なぜ、日本でもこのような動きが出ているのか。どのぐらいお得なセールなのか。

■ブラックフライデーとは?

アメリカでは、ブラックフライデーはクリスマス商戦の始まりとして定着しており、感謝祭(11月第4木曜日)の翌日から翌週の月曜日に行われる。

ブラックフライデーは、1年で最も物が売れる日と言われている。各小売店が大幅割引セールを行い、アメリカ人にとっては「お祭り」のようなビッグイベントだ。

世界小売連盟(NRF)の統計によると、アメリカでは、小売産業の年間売上の3割がブラックフライデーからクリスマスの間に生じるという。実店舗だけではなくオンラインショップも同時期に大規模セールを行っており、感謝祭の翌週月曜日は「サイバーマンデー」と呼ばれている。休暇明けにオンラインショップで買い物をする人が多いことから、この名称がついたと言われている。

■イオンなどの日本企業もブラックフライデーを開催

日本でも、ブラックセールを導入する企業が増えている。大幅割引セールを行うことによって消費者の購買意欲を高め、年末商戦に向けた売上向上を図っているとみられる。

今年、ブラックセールを開催する主な企業はこちら。

イオンは今年が初参戦。全国約500店舗で大幅セールを行う。

ECサイトの「BUYMA(バイマ)」は、お笑いタレントの又吉直樹さんを起用したCMを放送した。

アメリカと同様の日程、11月25日(金)から11月28日(日)にかけてセールを行う企業が多いようだ。年末セールの起爆剤となり得るブラックフライデーだが、日本でも定着するか、今後の動向に注目だ。

■ユニクロでは、ブラックフライデーではなく「感謝祭」を開催中

一方で、日本のファッション大手ユニクロは、11月23日(火)から11月29日(月)にかけて、7日間の感謝祭セールを開催している。

ユニクロの広報担当者によると、この感謝祭は創業を記念して年1〜2回開催されるもので、特にブラックフライデーを意識したイベントではないという。

今後ブラックフライデーを開催する予定はあるかというハフィントンポストの取材に対して、広報担当者は、「感謝祭は今後も続けていくが、ブラックフライデーと銘打ってセールを開催する予定はない」と答えている。
