世界3大映画祭の最高峰である第67回カンヌ国際映画祭が5月14日夜（日本時間15日未明）から、フランスのカンヌで開幕した。世界のスターが集うレッドカーペットには、女優の長澤まさみが登場。香港のジョン・ウー監督の最新作「太平輪（原題）」のプロモーションとして、初のカンヌ入りとなった。
最優秀賞を競うコンペティション部門には河瀬直美監督の「2つ目の窓」がノミネートされており、受賞が期待される。
