［ワシントン ３０日 ロイター］ - オバマ米大統領は３０日、カーニー大統領報道官が来月退任すると発表した。後任にはアーネスト同副報道官が昇格する。
ホワイトハウスの報道官は通常は２年程度で交代するが、カーニー氏は３年以上務めた。
バイデン米副大統領の報道官だった同氏は２０１１年に１月に大統領報道官に就任し、翌年のオバマ大統領再選を支えた。
アーネスト氏は２００８年の大統領選挙でオバマ陣営に加わった。
