２７日付のチャイナ・デーリーによると、中国当局は、国内保険大手の中国人民保険集団（ＰＩＣＣ）と中国平安保険グループに対して、大気汚染による健康被害をカバーする保険の販売を停止するよう伝えた。
理由は明らかにしていない。
ＰＩＣＣは先週、北京市の住民を対象に大気汚染保険の販売を開始したばかり。この保険は、スモッグが原因で入院した場合、加入者に１５００元（２４０ドル）支払う。また、北京市の大気汚染指数（ＡＱＩ）が「危険」と見なされるレベルである３００を５日間連続で超えた場合も、３００元が支払われる。
平安保険は、オンラインの旅行会社と提携し、旅行時にスモッグが発生している都市に２日以上滞在した場合、１日当たり最大５０元を支払う保険を販売。
両社ともこれまで加入した保険は有効としている。
北京市の大気汚染指数はしばしば３００を上回り、時には５００を超えることもある。［上海 ２７日 ロイター］
