中国甘粛省定西市で22日に起きた地震による死者は95人、負傷者は千人以上となった。災害救援などを所管する民政省は22万人以上が避難生活を送っていると発表した。警察や消防の部隊は山間部の村を巡るなどして救助活動を継続している。産経新聞が伝えた。
中国地震局の観測によると、日本時間の22日午前8時45分ごろ、中国内陸部の甘粛省定西市の岷県とショウ県（ショウは、さんずいに章）の境界付近を震源とする、マグニチュード6.6の地震が発生。民政省によると、倒壊したり、激しく損壊したりした家屋は12万7千棟に上った。特に、山間部の村落で多くが倒壊。家屋は土を固めて乾かしたれんがと木材で建てられた粗末なつくりで、耐震性が極めて低かったとみられる。被災者は58万人にのぼっている。土壁やれんがなどの建物に被害が集中。救援作業が続けられている。
地震専門家は新華社に対して、今回の地震を起こした断層は、約7万人が死亡した2008年の四川大地震の断層とは異なるとして「四川大地震の余震ではない」と指摘した。
