過激派組織ダーイシュ（イスラム国）のグループが2月22日、少年兵を育成する施設に関する新たな動画を公開した。動画には10歳ぐらいの少年兵らが訓練を受ける様子が含まれているが、海外からダーイシュに加わった戦闘員の子供とみられる。FOX NEWSなどが報じた。
約9分に及ぶ動画には、迷彩柄の戦闘服と黒いハチマキに身を包んだ約80人の少年兵らが、シリアのラッカにあるとみられる施設で訓練を受ける様子が映されている。少年らは指導にあたる兵士のアラビア語の掛け声に合わせて体を動かしたり、「アッラーフ・アクバル（アッラーは偉大なりの意味）」と叫んだりしている。

一方でダーイシュは、ラッカで海外出身者の児童向けの学校を開設したと報じられた。ニューズウィークによると、学校は6歳〜14歳向けで、授業は英語で行われる。イスラム教に関する授業のほか、数学や英語も科目にあるが、コーランとアラビア語の授業はアラビア語で教えるという。
ダーイシュに参加する外国人は、80カ国以上、1万5000人にのぼるとも言われている。テロリズム専門家のジュディス・ジェイコブ氏は、欧米からダーイシュに加わる人の多くはアラビア語が話せないとしており、ダーイシュでも英語による教育が「ある程度は必要だ」と話している。
