Googleがストリートビューに付け加えたいと思うような実在の場所は、もうなくなってしまったのかもしれない。
Googleは、映画『ハリー・ポッター』シリーズに登場するダイアゴン横丁のストリートビューを公開した。横丁には、魔法用品店や魔法の杖店、いたずら専門店やグリンゴッツ魔法銀行などが並び、360度チェックが可能だ。
ご推察通り、それは「本物の」ダイアゴン横丁ではなく、イギリスのハートフォードシャー州にある「ワーナー・ブラザーズ・スタジオ・ツアー」のセットだ。[『ハリー・ポッター』シリーズの撮影で使用されたセットや小道具などを見て回ることができる施設]
ストリートビューを使えば、オリバンダー杖店やミスター・マルペッパーの薬屋など、『ハリポタ』の世界に登場するいくつもの場所を訪れることができる。ハリーが育った、ダーズリー家の階段下の押入れもある。
ダイアゴン横丁のストリートビューは、日本の長崎県にある軍艦島のストリートビューと同じ週に公開された。映画『007 スカイフォール』で、ハビエル・バルデムが演じる悪役の隠れ家のモデルとなった島だ。[以下は、軍艦島ストリートビューについて紹介する動画]
