ディズニーが、アニメシーンを使い回している？　それには、理由があるようだ。（動画）

ディズニーのアニメーターたちが、数多くある古いディズニー作品のシーンからキャラクターの動きを再利用していたようだ。

ちょ、ちょっと待ってよ、ディズニー。

あるYouTube動画で、誰もが子どもの頃お気に入りだったディズニー映画のオリジナリティに疑問が投げかけられた。ディズニーのアニメーターたちが、数多くある古いディズニー作品のシーンからキャラクターの動きを再利用していたようだ。そのテクニックは「ロトスコーピング」と呼ばれ、大勢のアニメーターが漫画を描く時にコスト削減のために行われていた。

最初は、アニメーターたちがシーンのキャラクターの動きをつくるために、このロトスコーピングという表現方法が使用されていた。例えば、眠れる森の美女のダンスや、不思議の国のアリスでドアノブと話すシーンなどだ。アニメーターたちは、似たような動きのアニメ映像から、自分たちのシーンを描いていたようだ。しかしこのテクニックは、後の作品を予算内に収めるためにも使用されていた。アニメ制作者たちが以前の映画キャラクターを参考にして新しいキャラクターを描いていたが、ほとんど同じキャラクターが出来上がることもあった。

このマッシュアップ（複数の曲や動画を組み合わせて作ったコンテンツ）には、「眠れる森の美女」、「美女と野獣」、「白雪姫」、「ロビン・フッド」、「おしゃれキャット」のシーンが含まれている。ディズニーは再利用を相当な回数で行ったようだ。ここに紹介するのは、リサイクルされたアニメのスチールを揃えて集めたものだ。
