FIFAの巨額収入 2554億円の売り上げで、32億円は最高幹部の報酬に

利権をめぐる不正行為と汚職疑惑で複数の幹部が逮捕され、揺れる国際サッカー連盟(FIFA)。5月29日に行われた会長選では、現職の会長ゼップ・ブラッター氏が国際社会からの非難を受けながらも再選を果たした

テレビ放映権と国際スポンサーシップなどから巨額の収入を得ているFIFAだが、実は「利益を目的としない非営利団体」と名乗っていることをご存知だろうか。

非営利団体のFIFAがどのくらいの売り上げを挙げているかを、下のグラフにまとめてみた。水色の棒グラフが売り上げ、緑色の棒グラフが支出、そしてオレンジ色の丸が利益を表している。2014年の売り上げは13億4600万ポンド(約2554億円)で、利益は9100万ポンド(約173億円)だ。

こうした莫大な売り上げはどこに行くのだろうか? その一つは幹部の報酬だ。2014年にFIFAは最高幹部13名に対して2610万ドル(約32億円)の報酬を支払っている。

ブラッター会長やその他の最高幹部に支払っている報酬額に関してFIFAは明らかにしていないが、CNNは彼らの報酬額は「国際的大企業やスイスの大手企業と匹敵する」と伝えている

利益を最優先させているという批判に対して、FIFAは次のように述べている。

FIFAは利益を目的としない非営利団体であり、その多額の資金は世界各地でのサッカー振興や、国際大会の開催、規則の制定および実行といった目的のために使われます。

ワールドカップからの収入はFIFAに加盟する209の協会に平等に使われます。毎日55万米ドル(約6800万円)が世界中のサッカー振興に使われており、1日あたりおよそ200万米ドル(約2.5億円)が国際大会の運営に宛てられています。

FIFAの副会長で39歳のヨルダン王子、アリ・ビン・アル・フセイン氏を破って5度目の再選を果たした79歳のブラッター会長は、勝利のスピーチでこう述べている

「皆さん、ありがとう。次の4年間を私に任せてくれたことにお礼を申しあげたい。私は、FIFAという名のこの船の舵を取り、正しい航路に戻したい。われわれにはそれができると私は確信しています」

「この4年間任期を終えたら、私はFIFAを後継者に引き継ぐ。その頃にFIFAは素晴らしいものになっているだろう」

「私は完璧な人間ではないが、完璧な人間など1人もいない。共に力を合わせていこう。レッツゴー、FIFA! レッツゴー、FIFA!」

ブラッター会長の言葉は明るいが、巨額な不正を巡る汚職劇の解明にはまだしばらく時間がかかりそうだ
