サッカー日本代表、格下シンガポールに得点奪えずドロー

2018年にロシアで開かれるサッカー・ワールドカップのアジア地区2次予選で、日本代表は6月16日、埼玉スタジアムにシンガポール代表を迎えて初戦を戦い、0-0で引き分けて勝ち点1を得た。

2018年にロシアで開かれるサッカー・ワールドカップのアジア地区2次予選で、日本代表は6月16日、埼玉スタジアムにシンガポール代表を迎えて初戦を戦い、0-0で引き分け、勝ち点1を得た。

ハリルホジッチ新監督の公式戦1試合目でもあるこの試合、日本は世界ランク154位のシンガポールに対し、序盤から圧倒的にボールを支配したが、自陣に引いてゴール前を固めて守る相手からゴールを奪えなかった。岡崎や本田が決定的なシュートを放ったが、相手ゴールキーパーの好セーブなどもあって、無得点に終わった。

朝日新聞デジタルによると、放ったシュートは23本。ハリルホジッチ監督は「これだけ多くの得点機を作って無得点だったのは、私の人生の中でも初めてだ」と、うつむいたという。
