フランスのエマニュエル・マクロン大統領は5月17日、閣僚名簿を発表し、中道左派の社会党と中道右派の共和党から閣僚経験者を選ぶなど、既成政党、民間からのバランスを重視した顔ぶれとなった。

マクロン氏は15日に、共和党のエドワール・フィリップ氏を首相に指名し、組閣を指示した。

外相にオランド前政権で国防相を務めたジャン・イヴ・ルドリアン氏、内相にマクロン氏を支持したリヨン市長のジェラール・コロン氏など社会党の有力者を起用する一方、財務相に共和党のブルーノ・ルメール元農相を充てるなど、重要閣僚に社会・共和両党の実力者を取り込んだ。民間からは環境活動家のニコラ・ユロ氏をエコロジー・連帯移行相に起用した。内閣は閣外の大臣を含めて22人で、既成政党と民間からそれぞれ半数選出している。

またマクロン氏の公約通り、男女平等を重視した内閣となった。

女性閣僚は11人で、スポーツ大臣に元オリンピック選手ローラ・フレセル氏、文化大臣に出版業のフランソワーズ・ニッサン氏などが選ばれた。

マクロン氏は11日、6月に控える国民議会選挙の公認候補428人を発表したときも、候補者の半分は女性だった。

マクロン氏は大統領選を通じて男女平等を訴えていた。1月には「今、有権者の53%は女性です。国民議会に選出される女性の割合が30%以下というのは許されません。他の政党と違い、我々は男女平等を尊重します」と語っていた

マクロン氏の組閣は、カナダのジャスティン・トルドー首相を思い起こさせる。トルドー氏は2015年11月、首相就任初日に30人の閣僚を発表したが、そのうち15人は女性だった。

トルドー氏はその理由を問われると「もう2015年ですから」と答えている。
