Googleが無人走行車は人間の運転より安全と発表

2010年から公道で自動走行車の実験を進めているGoogleが、自動走行車は実際のドライバーが運転するよりも安全かつスムーズだというデータを公表した。自動走行車から収集したデータを解析した結果、人間による運転よりも自動走行車の方がブレーキとアクセル操作、前方の車との車間距離の取り方が適切だったという。

2010年から公道で自動走行車の実験を進めているGoogleが、自動走行車は実際のドライバーが運転するよりも安全かつスムーズだというデータを公表した。

米テクノロジーメディアサイトの『Technology Reviews』によると、Googleの自動運転プログラムの技術責任者クリス・アームソン氏は、自動走行車から収集したデータを解析した結果、人間による運転よりも自動走行車の方がブレーキとアクセル操作、前方の車との車間距離の取り方が適切だったという。

2011年に同社が「自動走行車は飲酒運転よりも安全だ」と発表した時のことを考えると、わずか2年で自動運転の技術が大きく進歩したといえるだろう。Autoblogでは、自動走行車の技術が今後、どうなっていくのかをこれからもウォッチしていきたい。
