羽生選手は8日、北京で開かれたグランプリシリーズ中国大会の公式練習中、他の選手と激突して負傷。あごを7針縫うなどの応急措置をした上で演技、2位に入賞した。車椅子で帰国後の精密検査で、頭部挫創などで全治2〜3週間との診断を受けていた。
産経ニュースでは「本人の強い意欲が影響したとみられる」と報じている。
日本スケート連盟に入った連絡でも、左足の状態などが思わしくなく、満足な調整は積めていないという。ただ、負傷時に脳への異常は確認されておらず、今回の決断には、連覇がかかるＧＰファイナル出場へ向けて、本人の強い意欲が影響したとみられる。
