アメリカ大統領選で民主党の候補者として現地時間7月26日、前国務長官のヒラリー・クリントン氏が正式に指名された。

アメリカ大統領選で民主党の候補者として現地時間7月26日、前国務長官のヒラリー・クリントン氏(68)が正式に指名された。アメリカの主要政党の大統領候補に女性が指名されるのは初めて。ハフポストUS版などが報じた。

前日から東部のフィラデルフィア州で開かれている民主党大会で、27日午前6時半ごろから大統領候補を指名する代議員による投票が行われた。その結果、クリントン前国務長官が代議員の過半数を獲得し、民主党の大統領候補に正式に指名された。

NHKニュースによると党大会では、この後に夫のビル・クリントン元大統領が演説し、11月の本選挙で野党・共和党のトランプ氏に勝利するため結束するよう呼びかける予定。副大統領候補については、クリントン氏が選んだケイン上院議員が指名される見込みだ。

■サンダース支持者からはブーイングも

民主党の予備選・党員集会ではバーニー・サンダース上院議員(74)がクリントン氏を相手に善戦していた

サンダース氏は25日の党大会で、「クリントン氏が次期大統領にならなければならない」などと団結を訴えたものの、サンダース氏支持の代議員は発言者からクリントン氏の名前が出るたびにブーイングし、同氏支持者といがみ合う場面があった
