百田尚樹氏、ナウルなどを「くそ貧乏長屋」 よく使う持ちネタだった

百田尚樹氏が自民党の若手議員による勉強会「文化芸術懇話会」で、ナウル、バヌアツ、ツバルなどの国を名指しして「くそ貧乏長屋」などと述べていたことが分かった。

作家の百田尚樹氏(59)が6月25日、安倍晋三首相に近い自民党の若手議員による勉強会「文化芸術懇話会」で講師を務めた際、ナウル、バヌアツ、ツバルなどの国を名指しして「くそ貧乏長屋。とるものも何もない」などと述べていたことが分かった。百田氏によるナウルなどに対する「くそ貧乏長屋」発言は、今回が初めてではなく、過去にも問題視されている。百田氏はかつてテレビで「“くそ”は余計だったかも」と発言していたが、再び“くそ”をつけて、強調する発言をした。

朝日新聞デジタルによると、文化芸術懇話会で百田氏は、世界には軍隊を持たない国が26カ国あることをあげ、「南太平洋の小さな島。ナウルとかバヌアツとか。ツバルなんか、もう沈みそう。家で例えればくそ貧乏長屋。とるものも何もない」「アイスランドは年中、氷。資源もない。そんな国、誰がとるか」などと発言した。参加議員からは笑いが起きたという。

百田氏は2014年5月にも、自民党岐阜県連定期大会で講演し、同様の趣旨のことを述べて国会議員らから問題視されていた。

このとき、百田氏は「ギャグやった」と釈明。2014年6月1日には、フジテレビ系の『ワイドナショー』に出演し、「講演では、戦後いかに日本人ががんばって、日本を立て直したという話を1時間半ほどした。(ナウルなどの話は)そのなかの、ほんの数十秒。話の『枕』に使った程度」と説明した。

百田氏は講演会で国防の話題に触れ、自衛権、交戦権を持つことが戦争抑止力につながるとの持論を展開。「軍隊を家にたとえると、防犯用の『鍵』であり、しっかり『鍵』をつけよう」と話したという。さらに軍隊を持たないバヌアツ、ナウルの国名を挙げ、「家にたとえると、くそ貧乏長屋で、泥棒も入らない」と述べたという。

百田氏は番組で、「新聞には書かれていないが、世界は200カ国ほどあるとの話をした。そのうち、軍隊を持っていないのは20数カ国。カリブ諸国や南太平洋の小さな国々で、ナウルは世田谷区の半分ぐらいの広さしか無い。家に例えたら“くそ貧乏長屋だ”と言った。あまり貧乏で入った泥棒も、お金でも置いていこうかと思うほどだと言ったら、みんなどっと笑った」と、講演の内容を紹介した。

番組出演者から「“くそ”や“貧乏”という表現は必要なかったのではないか」と指摘されると「金持ちの長屋と勘違いしてはいけない」、「(百田氏の出身地の)大阪には、(言葉を)強調するために“くそ”とか“ど”とかつける癖がある。よりいっそうわかりやすくするため」と反論していた。

さらに百田氏は、かつて「たかじんのそこまで言って委員会」という番組に出演したときも、同様の発言をしたことがあるとコメント。そのときは、「みんな完全なギャグだとわかっていたから、問題にならなかった」といぶかしんだ。「配慮が足りなかったなとかと思わないのか?」と番組出演者に聞かれると、「でも、事実でしょ?」と発言。また、自身も「貧乏長屋で育った」としており、「貧乏を恥とは思っていない」と話した。

百田氏は番組で「単なるギャグや」と述べ、謝罪も取り消しもしないとしながらも、「まあ、品がなかったかも。“くそ”は撤回していいかな」と笑っていた。
