中国のIKEA(中国名は「宜家家居」)では、店員が客に家具の使い勝手を試してみるよう勧めており、そのままひと眠りする客も多い。

イギリスでは、なんらかの睡眠障害に悩む人は人口の4分の1にものぼるという調査結果もある。中国の人も同様かもしれないが、ある家具屋のおかげで、少しは改善されるかもしれない。

世界36カ国で278店舗を構えるIKEAは、中国でも、中流階級たちの人気を集めている。世界のIKEA店舗で、売り場面積が大きい上位10軒のうち8軒が中国にある(1位はスウェーデンのストックホルム店だが、2位は中国の上海店で5万5032平方メートル)。
