国際テロ組織アルカイダの流れをくむイスラム教スンニ派の過激派組織「イラク・シリア・イスラム国」の武装集団は6月13日、南へ進攻を続け、首都バグダッドの約60キロ北方のバクバ郊外で治安部隊と交戦した。時事ドットコムなどが報じた。
バクバはディヤラ州の州都で、バグダッドの約60キロ北方に位置する。「イスラム国」はこれまでにモスルを含む北部ニナワ州全体に加え、北部サラハディン、キルクーク両州、西部アンバル州の多くの地域を制圧。バクバを支配下に置けば、一気にバグダッドの安定が脅かされることになりそうだ。

ロイター通信は、バグダッド北方にあるディヤラ県のサディヤとジャラウラで、治安部隊が拠点を放棄し、武装組織が進攻したと伝えている。
武装組織は、これまで武装勢力の隠れ家となってきた山岳地帯の村なども掌握した。

イラク側は、近隣の村からジャラウラとサディヤに砲撃。住民をイランとの国境付近に避難させた。

一方、国内有数の油田がある北部キルクークには、少数民族のクルド人の自治政府の治安部隊が12日までに展開し、過激派組織の襲撃から町や石油施設を守っているとしているという。
こうしたクルド人の動きに対しては、混乱に乗じて勢力の拡大を図っているとの見方も出ており、イラク情勢は混迷の度合いを深めています。

「イスラム国」は、イスラム教スンニ派の教義を厳格に適用した新国家建設を目指しており、イラクだけでなく、中東全体の波乱要因となっている。武装集団にはアフガニスタンやイラクでの実戦経験が豊富な戦闘員が多く、強硬姿勢から「過激派の中の過激派」とも評されるという。
