イスラム国家の樹立を一方的に宣言したスンニ派過激派組織「イラクとレバントのイスラム国（ＩＳＩＬ）」指導者のアブ・バクル・バグダディ容疑者は１日、インターネット上に声明を発表し、すべてのイスラム教徒に対し自らが支配する「イスラム国」に集結するよう求めた。
声明はバグダディ容疑者自身とみられる肉声で、約２０分間にわたり録音されている。その中で同容疑者は、イスラム教徒が勝利する「新しい時代」の到来を宣言し、「アラーの名のもとに我々は復讐する」と述べ、聖戦への参加を呼び掛けた。
ＩＳＩＬは先月２９日、バグダディ容疑者が「カリフ（預言者ムハンマドの後継者）」であると宣言し、すべてのイスラム教徒に対し同容疑者へ忠誠を誓うよう求めた。しかし、シリア反政府勢力の一部はこの要求を拒否するなど、早くも「カリフ」をめぐって不協和音が聞こえている。
一方、首都バグダッドでは１日、新しい議会が招集されたが、シーア派のマリキ首相の続投に反対するクルド人とスンニ派の議員が退席したまま戻らなかったため、休会となった。
議会のシーア派会派は、マリキ首相に代わる候補者をめぐり協議を続けてきたが、新首相候補を提示するのかマリキ首相続投を支持するのか、結論に至らなかった。［バグダッド／ドバイ １日 ロイター］
