米特殊部隊が「イスラム国」幹部殺害、シリアで地上作戦
米政府当局者は１６日、米軍特殊部隊がシリアでの地上作戦で 過激派組織「イスラム国」のアブ・サヤフ幹部を殺害したと明らかにした。同幹部は組織の資金源である原油・ガス取引などを指揮していた。
ホワイトハウスによると、作戦はオバマ大統領が指示した。また、米当局者によると、軍は同幹部の妻を拘束し、事情聴取のためイラク国内の施設に連行した。
特殊部隊に死傷者は出なかった。
ロイターが接触したシリアの関係筋によると、作戦ではほかに２人のイスラム国幹部が殺害されたという。これに関して米当局者からのコメントは得られていない。
米軍がシリアで対イスラム国の地上作戦を展開するのは、人質救出作戦以降初めてとみられる。
