過激派組織ダーイシュ（イスラム国）指導者のアブバクル・バグダディ容疑者とみられる音声メッセージが5月14日ネット上で公開され、世界中のイスラム教徒に対し、ダーイシュへの移住と武装蜂起を呼びかけた。AP通信などが報じた。
音声メッセージでは「すべてのイスラム教徒は武器を取り、イスラム国で闘うか、さもなくば自分が住む場所で闘え。ムスリムはどこでも闘う。それが全ムスリムの義務だ」と主張している。
また、音声メッセージでは「イスラムは平和の宗教であったことは一度もない。イスラムは闘う宗教だ」「誰しも、私たちが遂行している戦争はイスラム国の戦争だと思ってはならない。全ムスリムの戦争なのだ。しかしイスラム国は先頭に立つ。異教徒に対するムスリムの戦争なのだ」などと述べている。
MSNBCによると、音声メッセージでは3月26日から内戦が続くイエメンについて言及し、サウジアラビアの王室を激しく非難していることから、最近録音されたものと見られる。
音声メッセージは英語、トルコ語、ドイツ語、フランス語、ロシア語などに翻訳されている。
バグダディ容疑者とされる声明は2014年11月以来半年ぶり。3月にはアメリカが主導する有志連合による空爆で重傷を追ったと報じられた。
