東京都総合防災部の14時30分現在の発表では、東京都大島町では、13人が死亡、43人が行方不明となっている。家屋倒壊など283戸に被害が出ているとみられる。東京都は午前8時、自衛隊への災害派遣を要請。東京消防庁はハイパーレスキュー隊を、警視庁も特殊救助隊やヘリコプターを派遣し、正午までに現地に到着。救助活動や被害の活動に当たっている。
