4月15日に、マイナーからメジャーに昇格したトロント・ブルージェイズの川崎宗則選手。川崎選手といえば、明るいキャラクターでチームメイトやメディアに愛されていることで有名だが、現地メディアのインタビューに答える川崎選手の映像を見ていると、微妙に英語が上達しているようだ。
まずは10カ月前に出演した時の模様。フレーズ集を片手に答える姿が微笑ましい。
そして4月15日にメジャー昇格した後のインタビュー。YouTubeのコメントには「カワサキは絶対スベらないね！」などと書かれている。
いずれにしても、流暢でなくてもまったく物怖じせずにコミュニケーションを取ろうとする川崎選手が、現地で人気を集めるのもうなずける映像だ。
メディアの前でなく、チームメイトとの移動中にもおどける川崎選手の姿が動画で収められている。
プレーでも安定の人気者ぶりだ。
