チリ・バルパライソで大規模火災 11人死亡・500棟焼失、大統領が非常事態宣言

南米チリの港湾都市バルパライソで12日、大規模な火災が発生し、少なくとも11人が死亡、住宅500棟が焼失した。住民数千人が航空機で避難した。強風により火が燃え広がり、被害が拡大したという。

南米チリの港湾都市バルパライソで12日、大規模な火災が発生し、少なくとも11人が死亡、住宅500棟が焼失した。住民数千人が航空機で避難した。強風により火が燃え広がり、被害が拡大したという。

バルパライソは首都サンティアゴの北西135キロにある港湾都市。火災は12日に発生し、消防隊員約1200人が消火活動に当たった。地元当局によると火はまだ完全には消し止められていない。

バルパライソにあるチリの国会や19世紀末の建築物が残る歴史的地区は火災の被害を免れた。

バチェレ大統領は非常事態を宣言し、治安維持のため軍部隊を同市に派遣した。[バルパライソ(チリ) 13日 ロイター]
