竹島で韓国がボクシングの試合? 元世界王者2人、「3・1独立運動」記念日に対戦か

日本と韓国が領有権を主張する竹島で、韓国のボクシング元世界王者が試合をすることが決まったと報じられています。

日本、韓国が互いに領有権を主張している竹島(韓国名:独島)で、韓国の有名元プロボクサー2人が対戦することが決まった。試合の主催者の話として、AFP通信などが2月2日に報じた

AFP通信によると、WBCライトフライ級元王者の張正九(チャン・ジョング=54)氏と、WBAライトフライ級元王者の柳明祐(ユ・ミョンウ=53)氏の2人が、3月1日に対戦を予定している。この日は、日本の統治時代の1919年に起きた「3・1独立運動」の記念日に当たる。

韓国の中央日報によると、今回の試合は、過去にも竹島で複数のイベントを企画してきた韓国のポップ歌手、キム・ジャンフン氏の企画会社が発案。竹島に対する愛情に加え、韓国で人気がなくなってしまったボクシングを盛り上げようと企画したという。

チャン氏とユ氏の2人は国籍、年代、階級が全て同じだが、これまで対戦したことがない。キム氏は中央日報の取材に対し、「2人の試合はボクシングファンなら誰もが見たいと思う名試合で、大きな関心を引くだろう」と話した。

この報道を受け、Twitter上では日本人からの反発の声が広がっている。自民党の“ヒゲの隊長”こと佐藤正久参院議員は、自身の公式アカウントで次のようにコメントした。

この発言を受けてTwitter上では、「国際司法裁判所で白黒つけるように主張して下さい」「竹島の実行支配について交渉を」と、韓国による竹島の実行支配に対して対策を講じるよう政府に求める意見が相次いだ。また、「指を加えて見ている日本。情けない」「完全になめられている」などと残念がる声も上がった。

■そもそも竹島問題とは

外務省コトバンクによると、竹島は、島根半島北方にある隠岐諸島の北西約158キロの日本海に位置し、2つの小島複数の岩礁からなる。周囲の漁業権に影響することなどから、日本と韓国が互いに領有権を主張し、紛争が続いている。

竹島をめぐっては、日本が1905年、島根県への領土編入を決めた。一方韓国は52年、当時の李承晩(イ・スンマン)大統領が「李承晩ライン」を設定し、領土として取り込んだ。54年から韓国の警備隊が常時、実効支配している。また、島根県は、竹島の編入を宣言した1905年2月22日からちょうど100年目を記念し、2005年にこの日を「竹島の日」とする条例が制定した。
