フランスの風刺週刊紙「シャルリー・エブド」を襲ったあとに逃走した容疑者が、パリ郊外の印刷工場に人質を取って立てこもった事件で、工場の中で身を潜めながら特殊部隊の作戦を支援した従業員がいたことがわかった。建物の中にある社員食堂の流しの下に隠れていたという。

AFP通信によると、隠れていたのはこの印刷会社でデザイナーとして働くリリアン・リペリーさん27歳。2人の子供の父親だ。

サイド・クアシ(34)、シェリフ・クアシ(32)の両容疑者が1月9日の午前9時30分頃にこの工場を襲撃した時、リリアンさんと、父のパスカルさんは工場に残っていた。逃げ遅れた2人は、リリアンさんが3階に、パスカルさんが1階に隠れた。幸いなことに、パスカルさんは午後2時30分頃、工場から脱出することに成功。警察に走った。

リリアンさんの家族や友達は事件を知ると、無謀にもFacebookや電話で連絡を取ろうと試みた。しかし、連絡を取ることが逆に、犯人にリリアンさんらの居場所を知らせてしまうことになるとしてストップした。

隠れている間、リリアンさんは少なくとも3時間メールで警察に連絡を取り続け、工場の中で何が起こっているのかを伝えた。このことが警察の突入計画の、重要な情報になったという。

そして午後5時頃、警察が工場に突入。2人の容疑者を殺害した。リリアンさんは無傷で見つかった。病院で精神面でのケアを受けたあと、家族と再会するという。
