1次リーグＥ組の最終戦では、フランスとスイスが決勝トーナメント進出を決めた。フランスはエクアドルと0―0で引き分け、スイスは3―0でホンジュラスを下した。ワールドカップ初出場のボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナはイランに3―1で初勝利。両国ともに決勝トーナメント進出はならなかったものの、ボスニア・ヘルツェゴビナは有終の美を飾った。
