北アフリカのモロッコで発生した暴風雨に伴う洪水で、軍がヘリコプターなどを出して救助活動を進めている。

北アフリカのモロッコで発生した暴風雨に伴う洪水で、軍がヘリコプターなどを出して救助活動を進めている。ロイターは、11月24日までに少なくとも32人が死亡し、200人以上が避難を余儀なくされたと報じている。

100軒余りの住宅が流されたり、道路が寸断されたりする被害が出ている。中東カタールの衛星テレビ局「アルジャジーラ」が放送した動画では、人々が濁流の中で立ち往生するシーンや、自動車が流されていく衝撃的なシーンが映っている。

NHKニュースによると、洪水の影響で南部の観光地ワルザザートではフランスなどからの観光客200人余りが立往生。救援に向かうため航空機2機がチャーターされたという。

今回、洪水が発生した地域はサハラ砂漠に位置しており、乾燥した気候で知られるが、突発的な大雨による鉄砲水は珍しくない。
