一方、グループFのイランとナイジェリアの対戦は0－0で、今大会初の引き分けとなった。ナイジェリアは前半から主導権を握り、イランのゴールに何度も迫ったが、堅い守りを崩せなかった。グループGのアメリカ対ガーナ戦は、アメリカが2-1で勝って雪辱を果たした。両国は3大会連続の対戦だったが、過去2大会はともにガーナが2―1で勝っていた。
