ナイジェリアの首都アブジャ郊外のバス停で１４日朝、爆発があり、７１人が死亡、１２４人が負傷した。犯行声明は出ていないものの、同国のジョナサン大統領は、イスラム過激派組織「ボコ・ハラム」による犯行との見方を示した。
現場を訪れたジョナサン大統領は爆発について、このような攻撃によって「時代を逆戻りさせようとする者たちの行動」だとして非難。「われわれは乗り越えられる。ボコ・ハラムの問題は一時的なものだ」と強調した。
爆発は通勤時間帯に発生。軍当局者は、爆発は車両の中で起きたとみられるとする専門家の見解を示した。現場にいた目撃者は、「バスを持っていたところ、耳をつんざくような音がした。その後に煙が見え、皆がパニック状態で逃げた」と話した。
主に同国北東部で活動するボコ・ハラムは、政府や治安部隊に協力しているとして、住民らを狙った攻撃を強めている。国際人権団体アムネスティ・インターナショナルによると、過去１年間で１５００人が犠牲になっている。［アブジャ １４日 ロイター］
