錦織圭、決勝のナダル戦で途中棄権 マドリード・オープン準優勝【男子テニス】

テニスのマドリード・オープンは5月11日、マドリードで行われ、男子シングルス決勝で錦織圭選手が世界ランキング1位のラファエル・ナダル選手と対戦したが、試合途中に腰の痛みを訴えて棄権し、準優勝に終わった。

テニスのマドリード・オープンは5月11日、マドリードで行われ、男子シングルス決勝で錦織圭選手が世界ランキング1位のラファエル・ナダル選手と対戦したが、試合途中に腰の痛みを訴えて棄権し、準優勝に終わった。時事ドットコムなどが報じた。

世界ランキング12位の錦織圭(日清食品)は同1位のラファエル・ナダル(スペイン)と対戦したが、6-2、4-6からの第3セット途中で体調不良のため棄権し、今季3勝目はならなかった。ナダルは今季3勝目を挙げ、ツアー通算63勝。

錦織は今季2勝目を挙げた4月のバルセロナ・オープンから続いていたクレーコートでの連勝が10で止まった。

錦織は、ナダルとの対戦成績が7戦全敗となった。ただし、12日発表の世界ランキングで9位に浮上し、日本男子で初のトップ10入りを果たす見通しだ。
