【ナッツリターン】大韓航空の前副社長が裁判所に7回提出した「反省文」の中身(詳報)

一審で実刑判決を受けた趙前副社長は、温情判決を狙って地裁に計7回「反省文」を提出していた。

大韓航空の趙顕娥(チョ・ヒョナ)前副社長が、機内でナッツを袋のまま出されたことを「マニュアルと違う」と激怒し、飛行機を引き返させてチーフパーサーを降ろした「ナッツリターン事件」。一審で実刑判決を受けた趙前副社長は、温情判決を狙って地裁に計7回「反省文」を提出していた。

【反省文1】

私はすべてのことを、自分がしたことであり、私のせいだと思います。私が騒ぎを起こし、まったく自制せずに「怒り」を表し、人々の温かい気持ちも理解せず、激しく怒りました。K乗務員とバク・チャンジン事務長(チーフパーサー)に「降りろ」と言い、まるでその飛行機に乗る資格がないかのような侮蔑感を感じさせました。

すべては、私が怒ったという理由でそのように行動したのです。なぜ怒ったのかは重要ではなく、言い訳もできないことはわかっています。重要なことは、若いK乗務員が受けた大きな傷、チームの責任を負うチーフパーサーが荷物をまとめて飛行機から降りるときの大きな悲しみですが、事件当時は真面目に考えませんでした。当時の心の片隅に「これでいいのか」という気持ちがなかったわけではありませんが、最終的に私の行動を阻止することはできませんでした。

今になって考えれば、K乗務員であれ、バク・チャンジン事務長であれ、みな誰かの大切な家族であり、愛する人であるはずなのに、被害者とその家族にも本当に申し訳ありません。私の罪を深くおわびいたします。本当に申し訳ありません。

▪︎「事務長がマスコミにすべて話さなかったら、私は家庭と会社を放り出さなくてよかった」

【反省文2】

明らかに人の感情は、時間が経つにつれて回復していくものですが、ある種の後悔は、時間が経つにつれて深まる気がします。

一日一日、あの日を思い出し、私がただ何も言わなければ、怒りを鎮めることができたならば、というつまらない考えにふけってみたり、時にはK乗務員やバク・チャンジン事務長が私への怒りを収めてくれたら、などととんでもない考えに至ります。このような盗人猛々しい考えになる時、この後悔が本気の反省から来るのか、私の置かれた状況から来るのか、自分自身もよくわからない状態になります。

あの日、何事もなかったら、またはバク・チャンジン事務長がマスコミにすべて話さなかったら、今日、私は家庭と会社を放り出さなくてもよかったでしょう。しかし、おそらく1カ月、1年後、たとえ運が良かったとしても10年後、おそらくここ(法廷)に立っているかもしれません。私は新しいプロジェクトや事業にチャレンジする機会を与えられていたのかもしれませんが、その過程で誰かが涙を流し、深い侮辱に挫折したのかもしれません。それはさらに私をダメにし、私が限りなく愛してきた大韓航空に、さらに大きな被害を与えたかもしれません。よく考えてみれば、人が何もせずに変わる理由はないので、そうだったのだろうという気がします。

私はここに来なければ、果たして見知らぬ人から無償の支援を受ける機会があっただろうか、救いの手をありがたく思う機会があっただろうかという気がします。私が(12月)30日の夜、拘置所に入った時、与えられたのは、小さな箱に入ったトイレットペーパー、プラスチックの箸とスプーン、皿、石鹸、歯ブラシ、歯磨き粉でした。そして、下着と靴下それぞれ2着が、私の持ち物すべてでした。必要な生活必需品を買う日は決まっているだけでなく、正月も挟まり、供給業者の変更もあって、物品を購入することさえ容易ではありませんでした。

しかしながら、周囲の方々は、スキンクリームとローション、シャンプーとリンスも貸してくださり、お菓子もくださいました。本当にありがたく思いました。さらにありがたかったのは、私の事件について何も聞かなかったことです。こうしたことが他人への配慮なんだなあという思いが自然と湧き上がりました。私がしたいからではなく、相手がどのように感じるかをまず考えていること。私にはそれが非常に不足しています。すべてが私の失敗であり、申し訳ありません。

【反省文3】

この事件が起きる前、私は自分の仕事の面で強引でも、引き受けた仕事はしっかりして、気兼ねなく他の人と交流し、善悪をはっきりつけるが忘れることは忘れる、人間的で物事に通じた上司になりたいと思っていました。しかし今では、自らを見つめることへの恐怖が先立ちます。私のすべての行動を反省し、良い人、他人の施す情けを知る人になろうと思います。

▪︎「立派なコチュジャンができました。あっという間に食べました」

【反省文4】

食事の時間になると、4人分のご飯と汁物、コップがやって来ます。私達の部屋の入所者は、これをすべて分けて食べています。メニューに慣れたせいか、自分たちで特別メニューを作って食べます。お菓子の「インディアンポップ」(注:コーンフレークのようなもの)と牛乳だけの簡単な朝食から、おにぎりやビビン冷麺など本格的なメニューまで、こうしたものを食べると、会話がはずみ、現在を忘れるちょっとした機会になります。

この週末、いろいろ悩んで私の口数が少なくなったのを見て、私より12歳年上の入所者が「特別メニューを作ってあげよう」と言いました。コチュジャンにあれこれ限られた材料を入れて混ぜて、立派なコチュジャンができましたが、香りも甘く、食べてみるとご飯でも麺でも、一食分をあっという間に食べてしまうほどで、私の言える最高の賛辞をすべて送りました。誰もが精一杯の努力を尽くして育ててきたイメージを、私は「ナッツリターン」という事件でぶち壊してしまったことを知っています。今日でも、いえ、この事件が最初に起きたその時から、大韓航空が分離されて私の汚名に染まらなければよかったのに、という口惜しさもたくさんあります。

何よりも今回の事件は一回の過ちという問題ではなく、私という人間が持つある種の人間的な部分にも関連しており、マスコミが私を憎むので、私が大韓航空とこれ以上同じ道を歩いて行くことができないことも知っています。私の過ちを知り、被害者に本当に申し訳ありません。私のせいで起きたすべての被害の傷が、なるべく早く治ることを切に願っています。国民の、社会の怒りが大きく、私も申し訳ないという言葉、反省という言葉以外に、どうしていいかわかりません。どうすれば許されるかわかりません。
