アメリカのオバマ大統領は2月8日、グラミー賞授賞式に動画メッセージを寄せ、性暴力をストップさせるために手を差し伸べてほしいと呼びかけた。

「これはだめだ。そして止めなければいけない」。オバマ大統領は録画されたメッセージの中でレイプについて述べた。

「私たちがやろう。私たち全員がやろう。暴力を許さないカルチャーを作るために。性暴力サバイバーたちが支援を受けられ、そして若い人たち、男性と女性、だれもが知恵の及ぶかぎり前進できるように。そしてみんなの夢がかなうように」
