オバマ大統領、5月に広島訪問へ 現職アメリカ大統領初

アメリカのオバマ大統領が5月の主要国首脳会議(伊勢志摩サミット)で日本を訪問するのに合わせて、広島を訪れる見通しとなった。

アメリカのオバマ大統領が5月の主要国首脳会議(伊勢志摩サミット)で日本を訪問するのに合わせて、広島を訪れる見通しとなった。複数のアメリカ政府高官が4月22日、明らかにした。現職大統領として初めての訪問となる。共同通信などが報じた。

ホワイトハウス高官によると、国家安全保障会議(NSC)はアメリカの世論が大統領の広島訪問を「前向き」に受け止めていると判断し、大統領に訪問案を提示している。

オバマ大統領は、伊勢志摩サミット終了後の5月27日にアメリカ軍のヘリを使い、広島に移動することで調整している。現地に数時間ほど滞在し、平和記念公園での献花や、大統領就任直後の2009年に世界に核軍縮を呼びかけた「プラハ演説」のような演説をすることも検討されている。安倍晋三首相も同行する方向だ。

NHKによると、アメリカ政府の複数の当局者は「オバマ大統領がサウジアラビアとイギリス、ドイツへの訪問を終えて来週、ワシントンに戻ってから本格的に検討して決める」と述べた。

■4月に訪問したケリー長官「すべての人が広島に来るべき」

オバマ大統領の広島訪問を巡っては、ジョン・ケリー国務長官が11日、広島市の平和記念公園の原爆死没者慰霊碑に献花し「すべての人が広島に来るべきだ。大統領にもその一人になってほしい」と述べていた

オバマ大統領の訪問の可能性をふまえて、広島市で5月28、29日に開催予定だった大型イベントも中止になった
